SALTA – I deserve a new chance!

SALTA – I deserve a new chance!

SALTA is a professional insertion project for women and girls who are in vulnerable situations, victims of domestic violence. SALTA (Jumping in Spanish) means getting up from a situation of vulnerability or abuse and starting a new life. Romania is the 15th country where the SALTA program was organized and for two weeks, between February 21 and March 8, 16 survivors of domestic and gender violence participated in an intensive personal and professional development program. Here, fashion items,  brands, products, departments, operations and work devices were presented. At the same time, the new employees learned about newconcepts such as (re) building self-confidence, occupational therapy, wellbeing, conflict management, Customer Care, sustainability, and Diversity & Inclusion.

SALTA is a program about freedom, empowerment, financial independence, and self-confidence, as a safety net in the uncertain present for a better and safer future. New employees have a more optimistic outlook on the future, a safer job, a mentor, and a team to motivate them when they don’t have that power. Thus, they are given the chance to develop their true potential for fulfilling their dreams, despite their previous life experiences.

So far, since the launch of the project, SALTA has been included in the labor market, in 15 countries (Spain, France, Great Britain, USA, Italy, Portugal, Greece, Poland, Mexico, Brazil, Germany, South Korea and Romania )  over 1400 people, out of which 65% women and 35% men. In Romania, there were 14 mentors, 14 representatives of Inditex store brands, and 60 employees, managers and directors, all of them gathered to support the integration of 16 new employees.
